Looking for a factory "Service" Manual
Hey Guys,
I just got myself a 1998 Tahoe with the 5.7 Vortec. I'm looking for a factory service manual, so if anyone knows a good place to get one I'd appreciate you pointing me in the right direction.
There is this ticking noise (sounds like valves to me) and I'm trying to isolate the source. It's there all the time but does get better as the engine warms up. I'm looking to adjust the valves but haven't found anyone whom has done it before. I've done loads of engine work before and if you guys have any suggestions for me I would also appreciate them.
Thx
89_Tahoe that's really a 98

RE: Looking for a factory "Service" Manual
Techline publishes the factory service manuals on dvd. They are very good. They are sold on eBay.
Here's one of them:

There are always a few of them available on eBay. Just search on gm dvd techline
Good luck.

I think that is correct. The DVD version is very nice and I think it's easier to use than the hardcopy. It coversall GM products for several years, and you just put in your VIN to get to your vehicle's information.

A little pricey tho at 3X the print version. And I'd need to get a keyboard membrane to keep the laptop from getting gunked up.

Hi, I have a 2000 Suburban 1500, and I was wondering if you ever found the Service Manual for your 2004 Tahoe? I'm pretty sure it's the same as mine. I'm looking for an electronic copy. Actually I mostly need the electrical diagrams. Thanks!

I attempted to access the service manual via that link, however I was unable to do so. I believe my computer has restrictions on some links. I appears that the link leads to some type of software. Maybe the owner of the website receives revenue when the software is downloaded and this is how the service is funded? Just a guess. If software must be downloaded to my computer, then I won't be able to access that pdf.
Actually what I need is the lighting system wiring diagram/schematic for a 2000 Suburban 1500. I am having a problem with my DRL lights and headlights and I want to troubleshoot the problem with a little help from the schematic. If anyone is able to help with that, I would be most appreciative!
Thanks!
