Lowered 07 Tahoe ( Rough Ride ) ??
Our Tahoe has been lowered, and it looks great !!! But the wife is complaining about the quality of the ride..[] I will have to admit that on a street that has several bumps or pot holes, it will jar you pretty good.
It seems to me that the backend is the roughest area . The front seems to handle the bumps alot better.
The tahoe is great and really smooth on the highway, but like I said, it suffers in town...
Is anyone else seeing this when they lowered there Tahoe ?? I know when you drop one, that you will lose some of the smoothness of the ride..
Is there anything that I can do to maybe raise the rear up a tad bit to maybe help smooth it out some..
Right now, it sits level..
Thanks for any and all help or advice...

Yes, Its the 2 /3 kit... And yes, From stock to this is really noticable... I am just curious if there is anything I can do to make it a bit smoother besides raising it back up..
Like I said, It rides great on the highway, but in town when you hit a pot hole, it seems like it is really taking a toll on the suspension.. Its not horrible by any means, but you sure want to avoid hitting as many bumps as possible..
No one on this forum is having trouble or thinks there Tahoe is riding rough since you lowered it ??

That is a side effect of lowering, when the ride height is dropped the spring rates are increased to help avoid a bottom out condition, if the suspension was left soft and plush you would fully compress the suspension on small bumps.
The urethane bushings and bumpers that are used in some kits also contribute negatively to the harsh ride quality.
Some companies do a better lowering kit then others. Contact the kit manufacturer with your concern and see what they have to say.
It sure looks nice though.

Thanks XZ1100.... I kinda figured that, I lowed my 81 silverado back 1988.. It was a bit rougher then as well. Just thought with the air ride system, that it might be a bit smoother... I sure hope I can convince my wife to leave it alone.. It really does set it apart from all of the others in town..

Looks great, but like ZX said it seems to go with the territory. Just think how much worse it would be if you also went to 22" or 24" wheels.
You might want to PM biglg. I cant remember for sure but I think he has/had a McGaughy kit. Good Luck
