Moving from California to New York
Hello,
In two weeks I will be relocating from Sacramento, Ca to Hilton NY. I'll be driving my Tahoe out and shipping my other vehicles. I've had my 2013 v8 4wd Tahoe about a year and I have 50k miles on it. So far all I've had done to it is the normal oil changes.
Can anyone recommend what if any services I should have done prior to making the long drive? It's about 3,000 miles over 4 or 5 days and I just want to make sure I'm not putting any stress on it that I don't need to. I occasionally pull a 17 foot travel trailer around on the weekends (I'm shipping this to New York) so I have already been thinking of changing out the transmission fluid because when I'm going up and down in the hills/mountains it gets up 220 pretty quick.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome to the forum.
Recommend getting tranny, diffs, and xfer case fluid changed. Also recommend getting it w/ BG as you get a warranty w/ their service. Some dealers do it, you'll have to check. They paid $1,500 for a tranny for my son's '04 Tahoe.
Also you need to check the trailer's gross weight and see if it is less than the max. tow weight for your truck.

Reading comprehension, Shark - he's not pulling the trailer. He's shipping it.
Dexron VI is good to temperatures above 250°.
Check the service interval for your axles - might be ready for a fluid change at 50k.
You've got a two year-old truck with 50k miles. Get in it and go. You're not putting any additional stress on it. It's doing what it's designed to do. Have fun and enjoy the drive.

My 2 cents, don't do any over the top maintenance just before the long drive...
You risk more going wrong doing a bunch of stuff just before a long trip.
The trip is not more then a oil change away if even that....
I'd suggest making sure all of your fluids are topped off. Once you get to your destination, then have those big service items done...
Flushing fluids, changing hoses, opening up cases and resealing gaskets just screams opportunity to fail when you are in the middle of that trip. ...

That being said, what I said would still be good info for him when he gets there.
