Default Navigation unit plug wires.

Does anyone know or have the wire codes to the Nav units. I am interested in installing an after market headrest DVD system, but would like to just install a DVD Navigation unit and hook up the headrest monitors to the OEM Nav/DVD unit but need the wire codes if this can be done. I understand the reprograming that needs to be done, but if I installed the OEM unit with the DVD player, would it work with the after market headrest units or am I asking for trouble? Thanks again for any help.

I think what you want to do is allow your after market DVD play to play on the front nav screen.

If that is what you want to do, your best bet is to buy a GM Lockpick, or some similar, which will allow you to input an external audio/video device. I don't think you cant use the nav unit as a DVD play to push video to external screens unless you have the factory rear seat entertainment package.

However from one of your other posts it seems that you don't even have an OEM nav unit installed yet. If I am right, you're better off doing an entire aftermarket NAV/DVD and rear seat entertainment setup.

Yes you can connect aftermarket screens to a Factory DVD Nav unit and connect a external Audio Video source to it as well. I installed a DVD Nav unit thanks to the help of this forum. You will have to custom make your wiring harness. I bought the connector for the DVD Video/Audio Output and Aux Video/Audio input from JP Customs and using the following wiring diagram, I made my own wiring harness. This connects to the third connector.

Default RE: Navigation unit plug wires.

I have ordered part number 40-1012 from jp customs. Its only the output audio and video. Per your pinouts on the C3 connector, what ones do i have to build to get the input to the Aux?

Thanks
