Reclining Bench Seat

Reclining Bench Seat
My 92 Suburban has the standard bench seat in the front. A while back I had a taller-type friend ride and as he tried to stretch out a bit the seat popped back about ten degrees to the rear. I would like to get the seat back close to the original near vertical position. How difficult might this be? This is my preference as I had the seat re-upholstered about three years ago.
My other option would be to find a decent bench seat at a local junkyard and try to swap out the coverings.
Does anyone have advise on adjusting my bench to its original position?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.
Did he break something? If so, then probably have to weld it which means removing the upholstery in the area of the repair.
Not familiar w/ the bench but does it have a mechanism to allow reclining?

Thanks for the response.
Not sure if he 'broke' something or just 'stretched' something out. The seat has a fixed position and has no reclining capabilities.
If I sit in the back seat and press against the front seat with my knees my wife is unable to see anything move, but it does 'sit' a bit more vertical. I may have to remove or at least open up the upholstery to get a closer look.
