Default OEM Remote Start

Anyone know if I can program the OEM remote start to run longer then it doe's?

It only seems to run for about 8 minutes. I like to get up in the morning and press the remote start so when I get in the truck it's warm, but for only running 8 minutes or so it's not long enough in the northeast to get up to a nice warm temp.

I know I can press the remote an extra time once the first 8 minutes are up to recycle but it would just save me time to press it once and let it run for 15 or 20 minutes.

Unfortunately rekeying the LOCK then START buttons is the only way to extend the run time from 10 to 20 minutes.
It really isn’t all that difficult and I'll bet your thumb could use the exercise.

Yes by pressing LOCK and then START again after it has started will add ten more minutes to the time left on the original ten minutes.

OK, thanks, now I get it..

Press lock then remote start... Once the truck is started, do the same again and it will add 10 minutes of run time...

Sorry, I thought that you knew this already from your original question.

Yeah, I guess I did say that, but I really ment that I thought the remote could only be pressed 1 extra time after the first cycle had ended meaning that I would have to get back inrange after 10 minutes and restart the truck again... Not knowing that I could recycle the remote a second time while the truck was running... Sorry for the confusion...

Just to be clear. It adds ten minutes from when you rehit the sequence of buttons. You can't hit them right away to get 20.
