Problems with power door locks
I have searched the forums pretty well and have not found anyone else with the exact same problem, so here goes.
2002 Z-71 Tahoe
My driver's side power door lock does not work at all. It will not lock/unlock any of the doors. No movement at all. The passenger side will lock/unlock all of the doors except the driver's side. When I put it in drive all doors except the drivers will lock and when put it in park all doors will unlock except driver's door. No movement at all. Also, the power mirrors do not work. All windows work fine from all doors.
I have checked all the fuses I know to check in the door jam and under the hood. Didn't appear to be any related fuses under the dash.
Thanks!!

RE: Problems with power door locks
I have never worked on any component of a door lock system before. Can you be a a little more specific as to where the switch is and how to get it out? Doesn't sound too hard.
Thank you very much....this has been giving me headaches for a couple of weeks now.

RE: Problems with power door locks
No luck on cleaning the door lock switch. I called the Chevrolet dealership to ask about a new door lock switch. Of course, way over priced and non-refundable. Any other ideas?

RE: Problems with power door locks
Are you getting 12V to the switch. Sometimes one or more of the wires w/ break where it passes from the body to the door. If you are getting 12V to the switch, then you need to jumper 12V to the lock solenoid to see if it's working.

RE: Problems with power door locks
Just need to trace back the wiring and find where you're losing the 12V. Could be a relay. Is it getting 12V? It's probably downstream from the switch so it won't be.

RE: Problems with power door locks
I kinda had the same problem with my 2001 Tahoe. My passenger rear didn't lock/unlock. The locking relaywas getting power but something was preventing the actual rod to lock the door. I pulled off the door paneland checked out the switch which was fine. The actual door rod was broken near the latch and had to be replaced. It was a pita!
