Question about 2015 Tahoe/suburban magnetic suspension
#2
Per my salesman, the front wheel sensors continuously send information to back wheels activating a system that can magnetically change the viscosity of the shock fluid from water to peanut butter and back, depending on how rough the terrain is. All of this is done super fast so the back rides as smooth as the front of the vehicle. This is very high level, I'm sure, but it may give you an idea.

Magnetic Suspension Problems on Test Drives
Test drove a 2015 Tahoe LTZ home with the magnetic suspension last month and felt i was driving over small rumble strips even though I was on a relatively smooth road. I let my wife drive it without saying anything about the rough ride and she said "What's that I feel. It feels rough." I drove it back to the dealer and told him I couldn't buy that car for that reason. Interesting that he didn't even try to convince me to try another car or rebut my critique. He acted as if he already knew there was a problem with the suspension and didn't even try to convince me otherwise. I went to 2 other dealers and drove a Denali and another LTZ and they both had the same problem. I might add that all these cars had 22" wheels. Maybe that added to the problem.
I ended up buying a fully equipped LT with the premium suspension with 20" wheels and it drove very smooth and did not have the same problem.

I think the 22 inch wheels had more to do with the rough ride. I have a suburb and Tahoe with 20 inch Michelin at '2 and they ride great. The magnetic ride is pretty good in the Tahoe and really nice in the suburban. But next time around
It will be the lt with premium ride for me too. The ltz is nice but not 10k nice

Glad to hear the 20" tires made a difference. One dealer offered to put 20" wheels on the LTZ but I opted out since I found out I could get most of the useful options on the straight LT version and save some $$$. It was hard to give up my trusty 2005 Tahoe though, but it was time for a change.
