Rear load leveling compressor (pressure sensor)
Hi All,
My neighbour has a 2001 Tahoe.
His rear shocks have a leveling system that is managed by a air compressor.
Now this compressor is not starting anymore.
According to the diagnose computer the pressure pump is broken.
ECU is already been reset, but does not help the problem.
I've tested this compressor seperatly and is working fine.
Possible defect would be the pressure sensor that is mounted on the pump.
The service centre told ous to replace the complete unit, but it costs about 600€.
Does someone now if this pressure sensor can be bought seperatly??
Thx
PS, anyone got a electrical schematic of the pressure sensor to ECU

RE: Rear load leveling compressor (pressure sensor)
well, um, as far as I know it's not a pressure sensor, it's a level sensor/switch, if the level reads low, the pump turns on. The level would be located in front upper corner, right behind the tire. You should be able to see it with the vehicle on the ground. There is one on each side.

Hi,
It's not the level sensor that i mented.
On the compressor unit, there's a pressure sensor mounted, on the exit of the airflow.
It has 3 wires, and goes into the same round connector as the 2 wires of the compressor.
Nobody familiar with this problem ??
Thx

I own a '02 tahoe with autoride, motor stopped working, took it apart and found it was full of sand. Don't know how it got in there, but need a new motor. Hopefully yours is not this serious.

I'll find out at work tomorrow if you can get just that pressure sensor

Part # 22197161 is a Dryer / Pressure Sensor, the dealer should let it go for about $129 (US) if you talk nicely to them.

Thx for the P/N. The sensor is ordered, but price was about 250 Euro [sm=smiley23.gif]
I'll keep you informed, if it solves the problem.
