Default Speed Compensated Volume Problem

I bought a 07 LTZ with the Nav system. I've been trying to get the Speed Compensated Volume to work. My friends Montana SV6 definitely works and you can here the difference once you get to about 35kms. On mine Tahoe I've turned the stereo down to where I could barely hear it while stopped. Then I've started driving and can't hear anything but road noise. What the hell is the problem with this thing? You pay for bells and whistles, you expect them to work.

I never have thought mine worked either! I always mess with it and check to make sure it is on High, it always is and i never can tell a difference.

Try with it at JUST lower than normal volume. Then it will increase at 30 MPH and around 50- or 60MPH.

you may have it so low that when it increases perhaps by percentage it doens't make a difference.

Default RE: Speed Compensated Volume Problem

The SCV feature will not function (raise the volume as speed increases) unless the volume is set to a normal listening level, if you have the volume set to a low level the feature is disabled on the assumption that you want the volume low so you can carry on a conversation or some other reason which would make SCV operation more of a nuisance.

It also will not function if the volume is at the upper roughly 20% range level either.

It basically functions between the 20% - 80% volume range.
