Default service 4 wheel drive light

ater starting my 2000 tahoe, the "service 4 wheel drive soon" light comes on. its been doing this for 2 years and the dealer wants to charge a lot of money to check it out. any ideas?

Default service 4 wheel drive light

The same thing happened to me about a year ago .. thank goodness my car was still under warranty at the time .. all the dealership had to do was insert a new chip into the computer, it was an update of some sort .. i'm sorry i can't suggest anything other than taking it to the dealership
