Default Voltage

Commanded Duty Cycle
10% /20%/30%
Generator Output Voltage11 V/11.56V/12.12V
These values from a Chevy graph leave me confused. My understanding has all ways been that generator charging voltage must be higher than battery in order to force the charge into battery. Why then, to use the 10% commanded duty cycle, is the output voltage only 11 volts?

If battery voltage is high, and demand for current is low, the computer is programmed to not charge the battery as it has a sufficient charge in it.......saving gas and giving you that extra .5mpg
