Default Torque converter drain back?

I have 1993 suburban with a 4L60E transmission, after the truck sits overnight when I start it and put it in rev. or drive it takes about 2 seconds for it to engage. Doesn't do it when warmed up or even if it's only been sitting a couple of hours and it drives and shifts fine. My dodge ram had this same issue and what was happening was "torque converter drain back" where the fluid drains back out of the converter and back into the transmission. Dodge's solution was to put a check valve on the pressure line of the trans cooler, per them it wasn't a big issue just an annoyance. Has anyone else had this issue with their Chevy? What did you do to correct?

Thanks.
