Torque Specs
Hello everyone,
I am putting my 99 tahoe back together and can't seem to find the torque specs for the keeper nuts. I think the proper name is the rocker arm nuts, The ones that go on top of the keepers?/?? Can anyone help?

Yes I do have a haynes but thought since there was torque specs for the other two that maybe they missed putting it in. Says to rotate the push rods and tighten till there is no more play. Thats it though? just keep tightening till I cant turn the push rods? oh yeah then turn it 3/4 turn more

Yeah but there is another procedure! At top dead center you can only adjust certain valves! The way I always do it but it is messy and less you have rocker stoppers to block the oil passages is run the truck with the valve covers off and loosen each one till it starts clicking the tighten it untill it stop then 3/4 turn more! In your Haynes manual it will tell the certain procedure. You do not torque these down you will bend the pushrod and possibly a valve! Some vehicles you can torque them down but not yours!

Okay thanks, It looks like this will hopefully be a easy learning procedure. The only thing else I will have left to really do is rebuild an engine and I will full fill my experience. lol
