Default Towing capacity

I have a 1999 k1500 4x4 suburban with a Z82 towing package. Does anybody know what my towing capacity would be.

Hello again moon !

The easiest way is to just look up your VIN number at...<O</O
Free VIN Decoder - Vehicle Identification Number Report

When the Page appears, just click on "Equipment" and a second Page will show. In the Right Column, about a third of the way down, you will see your "Maximum Towing" weight listed. Keep in mind, that usually 10% of the Trailer Weight will be placed on the Tongue, and you must limit the Load in your Vehicle, to compensate for this, so you won't overload the Vehicle.

I don't have the manual and the sticker on the drivers door is missing.

I just checked out the web site and it said it can pull max 6000lbs. I would think it can pull more with the tow package it has. My 2002 trailblazer can pull 5600lbs.

moon,

I agree, that seems a little low to me as well. I have a 03 which will do 8100. But, it largely depends on what Engine, Rear End Ratio you have, and the weight of the Vehicle.
I did a quick search on your model, and the best number I found was 6500-7000.

Wish I had better news.
