Default Transfer case leak?

I have a 2007 Tahoe LT 4x4 with 100+k miles and have noticed a consistent leak at bolt that I believe is the drain bolt for my transfer case. Multiple threads are showing. Does tightening this down tight fix the problem or must it be backed out a little?

the drain plug should have liquid pipe sealant on the threads to prevent leaks. Make sure there are no hairline cracks in the case from it being over tightened.

theres no gasket, pipe threads and should be some sealant on them to help. If it is just the plug leaking see if it turns easily and snug it up if it does. As stated pics would make a huge difference.
