i have a 2000 tracker that misses at idle when under load (AC) or in drive. i had the car for about a year and had not the first problem with it. one day on the way home it stated missing real bad. hooked up my code reader nothing fancy. showed it was missing on #3. check everything with spark plugs seems fine. was missing on #3. swapped the plugs and it still was showing the code for missing on #3. swapped the coil and still missing on #3. if i unplug the MAF there is no difference in how it runs. i have not conducted a compression check will do that in a few days. anyone have any other possible ideas on what it could be? right not when driving it does ok a little miss when taking off but not to bad. around 55-60 it starts again.

I had this going on and bought a can of Mass Air Flow cleaner and cleaned the darn thing and all of my problems stopped. Was showing #1 & #4 misfiring on code reader and was like it was in limp mode.

Consider changing your fuel filter and buying some high quality injector cleaner.

I changed the fuel filter awhile ago but going to change it again. And I will be getting a can of MAF cleaner and give it a try. Thanks
