Default 99' Tracker - Fender Question

I've recently bought a 99' 2 door Tracker. The left fender is dented, with paint issues. The rest of body is in pretty good shape. A local salvage yard has a fender from a 2001 Tracker ZR2, that happens to be the correct color (black). I can pick it up for $50. My question, the ZR2 has fender flairs... are they attached THROUGH the fender, or from the underside? I haven't actually seen the fender from the ZR2 yet, but I'm thinking this would be an easy and inexpensive way to fix mine up. I just don't want holes in the fender where the flair was attached.

Anyone know anything helpful?

If you are looking at price as the major factor then the used fender is the choice. The holes can be repaired. You can get aftermarket fenders for about $29.00 for the economy ones and about $58.00 for the CAPA ones. But then you have shipping and painting.
