Question Clutch Starter Switch

I have a '97 Tracker 5 speed and lately I have been having troubles with starting the car. It is like the switch does not work all the time so I get full circuits of everything else, but nothing to the starter. Sometimes I can pump the pedal a few times and it starts, but lately even than is not working. I have had to push start it several times in the last week. Being an old guy who never had to use a safety switch on a clutch before, is there a way to defeat this switch or am I stuck trying to find a new one and replacing it? Is there an adjustment?
