Default 03 Trailblazer, replaced battery now dash vents don't work

Yesterday the battery died in my 2003 Trailblazer. I replaced it and even used a battery tender while doing so to ensure my computer settings didn't get wiped out. Everything went fine with the exception that now my dash vents don't work (floor and defrost still do). I have looked out on the web and several forums to find many others having this same issue, but have yet to find an answer on how to fix it. Any one have any ideas?

The good old dealership said to bring it on in and for $372 they can fix it. NO WAY! [:'(]

Any help is much appreciated!

sometimes setting the ***** to their leftmost position and disconnecting the battery for a while will correct the problem.
Other times- it just wont reset and it requires the replacement of the actuator or whatever that part is called....

You can also pull the HVAC B fuse under the left rear seat and this will reset the actuators. Just make sure the AC controls are all set to off, pullthe fuse and reseat and then turn the key on. You should hear all the actuators moving back and forth. After allowing a couple of minutes try it again. If this doesn't work then the mode door actuator is bad and will need to be replaced. It is the middle one on the drivers side up under the dash. I just replaced mine. It isn't to bad to replace but getting out one screw is difficult.

Ok tried what Ray said and now AC not working at all, after changed battery it blew cold from bottom but not from front vents. Undid battery and still did same thing. Removed fuse and waited 2 minutes, then turned to run and waited two more minutes, now doesn't work at all

Does anyone have any pictures or diagrams to help with replacing the mode door actuator?
