My wife was driving to work and the car just suddently shut down. It wouldnt start again. I went and had a buddy push us home. I let the car sit for a but and when I went out and tried to start it I had to put the gas pedal to the floor and pump it a few times.

Well when it finally started it was making a real loud clicking noise from the motor. I did some research (which is what brought me to the forum) and I seen that it was the air pump / air valve.

My question is, How can I test that to see if that is what the issue is and where in the heck is it? I have searched and cant find it anywhere.

Other than that, does this sound like it would be the air pump / valve? I do not want to go spending a lot of money if I do not have too.

I also heard it can be a bad coil pack causing the issue. Does that sound right?

Any help would be appreciated.
