P0446 Code, EVAP Vent valve
So my check engine light came on and the dealer scanned and got the codes P0036 for the Second(downstream) oxygen sensor and P0446 for the EVAP system vent valve.
Wondering if anyone know the location of the vent valve. I'm guessing its on the canister.
Also looking around for parts I find different names, evap purge vent solenoid, evap canister purge valve. are these the same thing? Parts numbers that I've found are (Solenoid) AC Delco PT250, 2142147,
2141361, and (Valve) AC Delco 2142125
Thanks for any info!

Thanks for the reply Evil. I'll order the parts and try to get to it sometime next week.
I guess the only thing thats really bugging me is that the van is 700 miles past warranty and things are going on it already.

I did check with the dealer, they read the codes and told me what needs replacing. The only crappy thing is here in Manitoba, Canada the rear oxygen sensor is $200CDN and in the US I can get it for $40 to $80 at Amazon. any huge difference in quality? http://www.amazon.com/gp/part-finder...0891&carId=002
The Walker direct fit is $40 and the Delphi on the last page is $65. Then the Bosch is $120

cheap parts cheap quality
I say cheap parts cheap quality. but its up to you since all you will be paying for is a brand name. do what you think is right you could buy the cheap part and never see a problem or buy it and have to replace it in a few months never know tilll its done.

No the dealer didn't clear the codes. When I brought my van in it came up with P0036, P0054, P0138 and P2101.
I live in Morden, Manitoba. Where would I get a hold of a GM rep? Do you mean the salesman that sold me the vehicle?

papa has a point. i have been in a daelership for a long time and have seen manny things. Its true if you complaine enough you will get it taken care of. I'm sure you know the saying the squeaky wheel gets the grease but it is posible for cars ( all makes and modles ) to though codes that have nothing to do with each other. Parts wear out thats a fact some times they go at the same time. Thats just bad luck It happens. for Example i once worked on a car that had a trany code incorect gear ratio 3rd , code for #4 misfire , purge valve insufishent flow and a catilist below theshold. so this costomer needed a trany a cat a Tune up and a puge vavle. so things just happen he bought a new car that week lol.
