I just bought this van for $750 knowing it need some work. What I am finding is that the transmission has a serious delay when I take off from a stop in first gear. The van accelerates in first gear to the point that the engine is revving loudly before it will shift into second gear. I have tried to feather the pedal to get it to kick into second gear but that does not work. Transmission fluid it at the proper level and does not smell burnt and is bright red. No idea as to how long it has been since last filter change.


Please advice as this is a new type of transmission for me. Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated.
