2004 Venture Transmission Issue
Hello,
Have a 2004 Chev Venture, and just recently a transmission issue has popped up. It seems that it is stuck in 1st gear, and will not shift up. The noise the fan is making is that of a Cessna aircraft....Fluid is at the proper level, and not burnt. Before I bring it in to the dealer for a diagnostic, is there any known issue with these? BTW....no engine light is on.
Thanks in advance!

transmission
Could be torque converter locked up. most dealers will just say replace it.... my father in laws did that around 100k miles.. at 175 now. But then again he never changed trans fluid so tahts probably why. Now I have Hondas and Toyotas. The odyssey van is notorious for bad transmissions but its really caused by owners who do not listen to the recommended maintenance where you change the transmission fluid every 30k... I do overkill and change every other year which is not even 10k so yes overkill but my transmission is still smooth at 117k miles which is good for an odyssey. Good news about odysseys is Honda will give you a free one...doubt chevy does that. if you end up having to get a rebuild then just change the fluid often
