Signal Lamp Problems 2001 venture van
When the left blinker was switched on, and the brake applied, the blinker would flash faster, the dash directional arrows both start flashing, and both rear brake lights were flashing dimly. The right side lamp was shorted inside at the bottom due to water and rust. both lamp black ground wire connections were corroded . I cleaned up the rust inside the housing, purchased good connectors for both lamps from the wreckers, soldered and heat shrinked them in, and the lamps are now working correctly. On a side note I originally tried to clean up and repair the connecters without parts, after a few days the auto headlamps stopped working, no dash lights, no tail lights park lp fuse under hood was blown, chime would engage when drivers door opened, what I found was at the bottom of the right tail light there is a small tab that got bent over when I cleaned the rust up causing a short, after removing the little tab, replacing the wire connecters, replacing the fuse, everything returned to normal.......
