Cold start problems with remote start...
Hey boys n girls.. I have a 1995 Chevy Silverado 7.4 and it's having cold start issues with my remote start unit. We all know these engines need to warm up that's why I put a remote start alarm system, what's happening is it tries to start and dies this alarm system allows it three tries before it shuts itself off completely. I replaced both of the large injectors and I replace the ECT on the front of the motor when I unplug the ECT it seems to start better and hold because the RPMs are higher but when the ECT is plugged in it just dies. I've also replaced the fuel filter. I'm thinking I just ordered a new crank sensor, any other ideas? I'm also having an intermittent problem with the heat blowing and then blowing cold.

if it starts normally with the key.....what did you use for the rpm input for the remote start....auto sense is not the best way.

if the vehicle won't start with the key....the problem isn't the remote start.
unplugging the ect sensor will default the reading to -40*C....the vehicle will add more fuel thinking its cold out. I would plug the ect back in....leave the vehicle overnight....before start up...with a scan tool compare all the temp sensor readings....they all should be close to each other and close to the actual temp. if there are any dtc post them. |
