Engine Timing

I'm working on removing the Intake manifold on my 1994 k1500 5.7 and I'm trying to remove the distributor. Cylinder 1 needs to be set at tdc compression stroke from what I've read. The timing cover has some teeth so you can line up your timing mark, but it's got 4 teeth so I'm not sure which tooth to line up with. All help is much appreciated, thanks.

If you don't move the engine at all with the distributor out, just put the distributor back in the exact same position as when you took it out. This way you don't have to worry about any timing marks.
