Default Used 350 Vortec Long Block

I just bought an 80K mile long block out of a 3/4 ton truck. ( supposed to be a 98). Should be a 4 bolt block? The owner said it "stretched a valve". I paid $100 for it. After I check out that the block is not hurt I will inspect the bottom end. If the rod and mains are good to go I'll replace all the bearings to be safe. The heads will be replaced with GM performance 64 cc fast burn units. New lifters and I will choose a new cam with a bit more punch. Any suggestions on a cam to give a bit more torque. My 96 truck is a daily driver and does occasional light towing. Also shorty headers and dual exhaust.

Regards,

Stretched valve, if you are having the heads redone, that's a non issue. If it came out of a 3/4 ton truck, my guess is it is a 4 bolt main.

Heads will be replaced with 64 CC Fast Burn heads. Any advise on a slightly hotter cam for more torque?

I don't have the link, or url, but I have seen in the past a sight that plug n play with cam lift duration ect. for GM, you might "shop around" the internet.

I have been looking on the web but haven't found what I'm looking for yet. I am also considering going to a carb and scraping the factory injection. I am trying to figure out what I will have to buy to do this as I have a 4L60E tranny .

Am picking up this long block this week and for the life of me I cannot remember the thread size in the back of the block? Are the bell housing bolts 3/8's or 5/8's ? I need to have all the hardware in place so I can mount the engine stand plate to the back of the block.
