Looking for a old Chevy truck

I'm new here and been looking for a old chevy truck manly a manual transmission 4x4 regular cad long bed. Don't know what year to get. I've looked at 454, 8.1, and 6.6 Duramax. I drive a lot and plan on towing, hauling, going to a place that has trailer pulling and sled pulling. I love big blocks, and diesel. I'm not that worried bout the economy things. When I have college I last 4 days in a 2.3 I-4 ford ranger. Diesel I like more due to more power, economy is good, and last longer then gas. If I get a 2004 chevy regular cab manual transmission 4x4 diesel long bed. Will that be the better choose? How much can it tow? Will it take trailers pulls? What are the problems with it? I plan on traveling. Thanks

For what it sounds like you are wanting to do, the diesel is the only real option.
