2010 Silverado key replacement

new guy here from maryland, have a couple questions when it comes to my 2010 Silverado z71 that we just got from a dealer (traded in my 2002 1500 work truck).

it only came with one key and a key fob with remote start, im looking to get a duplicate key and maybe another key fob but what are my options? does they key need any special programming and how does one get an OEM remote start key fob?

I am done with the key fob advice, but you can contact one of the sponcers/ advertisers here: iKeyless at https://carkeysexpress.com/store.

Good luck. Sure glad my 1998 Chevy K-1500 doesnt have any of that electronic nonsense. Take key, open door, start engine and HIT IT! !:D .

2010 was the last year you could program a key fob yourself. After 2010 you need a locksmith with the correct programmer. I bought a spare key at Home Depot for my 2013 Silverado for under $40. They cut the key and I programmed it. It was very easy. You can buy a key fob and program it yourself. Check out the link. There are other companies also.

thank for the link for the FOB, about the key i found THIS ONE on ebay for under 13 is that going to work? it says it will but compared to what you said and from others its seams too cheap

It looks like it should work. You will still need to take it to a key shop to have it cut.
