tires raised letters or blackwall
Hi all,
I got a question altho it is simple but I am not sure what do buy. This next week I am looking to buy tires for my 08 Silverado crew-cab. I am getting General grabbers STX 245/70R17. After looking at these tires they have the raised letters, should I run them with the raised letters showing or show the blackwall ?? My truck is a grey stone metallic. I know it my choice but it never hurts to get another opinion. chevytruck55 |
No idea....
I do remember running my KELLY CHARGERS with raised white wall (FULL) lettering (not outlined text)... looks good/great when clean and all... at some point it starts to crack.. I remember using brillo pads lightly to clean to them up. Not sure if I could go back to that... so much easier just to spray down the whole tire, take an simple brush to the tire, and sponge to the rim to clean off all the silicone and brake dust, and then re-lube the tires. so I guess the question remains - would you run a tire with a white wall strip? It just might be best to leave the 80's and 90's in the past.. unless you want to be different. ??? I guess I do miss the white wall letters and their spinning. |
Sledge I am in agreement with you to leave those days where they were.
and also it is so much easier just to spray down the whole tire, take an simple brush to the tire, and sponge to the rim to clean off all the silicone and brake dust, and then re-lube the tires. The 70 Chevelle SS did look good with the raised letters but that was another time and I was a young man. Now I am back to reality...lol thanks Sledge. |
