Hauling with my 17
So I picked up a new camper with my 1500 yesterday, dry weight of 5,300 lbs, truck rated at 9200, noticed every so often the temp creeping up on 220 degrees with it being 40 outside on the hills, this normal for the ecotec3 5.3?

when your towing that heavy (a load the weight of the truck itself) up a hill its gonna generate heat....218 for short intervals, your ok. Follow the severe service intervals in your owners manual ...ie trans fluid changes, oil changes, driveline fluids. trans fluid life is temp dependant...hotter its gets; shorter its life.

Was figuring that was the case, any suggestions for a tranny cooler? Doesnt look like it will be any fun with that damper assembly in the way.
