Harness Question w/Pic: 1995 K2500
Top: generic Chevrolet harness to mate to the HU, it's the maile to the female vehicle harness. Note the bottom four wires: green, purple. They're supposed to be for the rear speakers.
Bottom: Actual harness from K2500 that above plugs into (I cut one out at a junk yard, made sure later it was exactly like mine). Note the top left four wires - they match the rear when plugged in - *** and the additional two green wires *** is this single set for both rear passenger doors? When I hooked this up, the "rear" wires on the generic harness only powered the 4" x 10 just over the barn doors, not the actual rear passenger doors. Do the two *extra* two green wires actually split somewhere down the harness and power both of the back passenger doors??? I would rather not power the 4" x 10"s at all, and just all four door speakers (and a friggin great sub!). But, can't figure it out, WTF... I guess I could just run my own wires, but it would be nice to handle it all at the HU. Any info? https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-X...h320/photo.JPG |
