I have a 2005 Chevy Avalanche with a Check Engine Light issue. When I place the key on (Avalanche not running) the Check Engine Light will illuminate. I start the Avalanche and the Check Engine Light goes out as it should. But, when I turn the Avalanche off then again place the key in the on position (again, Avalanche not running) the Check Engine Light will NOT illuminate. If I turn the key off and let it set for a few minutes when I turn the key on the Check Engine Light will illuminate.

I checked the fuse and it was good, but replaced it anyway. The cigarette lighters work. There are no codes when I hook it up to my scanner. The Avalanche runs good. All other instrument panel gauges and lights appear to work normally.

Any help is appreciated as I cannot get it inspected with this condition.
