Cracked Dash Issue - What Years to Avoid!!
 

I am looking to purchase an Avalanche but in reading the forum on the 2007 Tahoe/Surburban/Avalanche cracked dash issues, I am hesitant to purchase any year Avalanche. Can someone tell me if the issues are just with the 2007 or do they extend beyond that year? I am not a wealthy person so to put out $28K or so, on a used truck is a big expense for me. I don't want a cracked dash down the road. I presently have a 1998 Expedition with 206,000 miles that stays outside in the Mississippi sun all day long, and it is only now developing a small 2 inch crack.

I have a 2004 Avalanche with 100K miles. No cracked dash, and it's parked outside year round in the Alabama sun. NO windshield shade of any sort.

I have a 2010 AV LTZ since 2009 with no issues the Cracked dash comes from areas with excessive cold weather, the cold makes the plastic brittle, it is also enhanced by people using those crappy armor-all type products as they break down the plastic. .

My wife's '08 is cracked in 3 places....never had armor all on it.

I like my wife's 2004 white Z71 so much I just bought a 2004 Grey Z71 for myself.

Wondering if the GMC Sierra is having similar problems with the lifters like my 2010 Chevy Silverado?
