1995 beretta cooling fan problem

The fan will come on only when the ac is turned on.I can turn the ac off and the fan will continue to run for awhile. Once it shuts off the car begins to run hot and the ac has to be turned on again for the fan to run. The relays have been checked they are working.I don't know what the problem could be, any help would be appreciated.

RE: 1995 beretta cooling fan problem

It could be ECT (ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE ) Sensor just unplugged the connector of sensor put fused jumper or a resistor and see if it spins. If it does replace the sensor.

Do you mean when you unplugged the ECT Sensor connector the cooling fan started working without puting fused jumper in conector pins?

A toggle switch

I was having the same problem , I somply installed a off / on switch in the center console. A year or so later I also replaced the two sensors in the thermostat houseing and put in a cooler thermostat.
