Buying a wrecked Beretta

I'm in the process of buying my friends '95 Beretta that he ran into a guard rail. He's only charging me whatever the junkyard is willing to pay him for it. Mainly it will be used as a backup vehicle but his whole family was obsessed with this car (passed on) so maybe I'll come to enjoy it; who knows.

Anyway, the car still runs and as far as I know it drives, I just need some body pieces, including both headlights, a bumper, the headlight bracket mounting piece, grille, and possibly a hood (we straightened it to the point where it's usable). Since the Beretta is pretty much impossible to find in the junkyard, I was wondering if I could look for a junk Corsica to pull these parts from.

Oh, and on a side note: I believe I remember seeing the check engine light come on once in awhile when he was driving it. The only other GM car I've ever owned was a 1995 Olds 88 and that car was almost impossible to pull codes from since it was neither OBDI or OBDII. Does the Beretta suffer from this same syndrome? Its a 3.1 if that matters.

I'm pretty sure most front end body parts are interchangeable. The Beretta is basicly a 2 door Corsica.
I like the "grille-less" look of the Z26 Beretta. I wish I could find the front piece to put on my Corsica.

As for the check engine light. That's what's called OBD 1.5
From what I've heard, it's a pain in the rear when it's acting up, but all in all, like most GM vehicles it's basicly reliable.

Good luck!

Body parts between the Beretta and Corsica are not swappable.
