91 z28 cranking problems
first a little history on the car.Someone had tried to steal it from previous owner and messed up the steering column. It has been sitting for 6 years and i just got it for a trade. The interior is immaculate the body is in great shape except for a dings. Im trying to fix the car for my son first car. The engine wont crank. the fuel pump does come on.The vats is good i checked resistance at key to resistance at the wireplug under column its the same. The ign. switch actuator rod is there but rack that holds it in place is busted.(broken from when they tried to steal it) I should be able to turn key on and just move rod to engage starter right? I tried that and didnt work next i pulled starter and bench tested, its ok. This is where im stuck im not too keen on the electronics nowadays.(my last project was a '60 El camino).Where do i go from here? Where and how? Thanks in advance for ur help. Btw everything else comes on in the car if that helps<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
