I have a 94 z28 with some issues. First off I can't use a regular pcv valve or else it will blow out my intake gasket and blow oil everywhere ( Not leaking compression) Also the car runs fine but once it runs at operating temp for 10 min it starts to miss. It will start in one cylinder and then move to the rest causing it to run rough back fire and barely move. Then it will back fire really loud the ses light will come on and then the car runs fine.

has the optispark ever been replaced to your knowledge? they are known to fail alot and could be the cause of your missing and backfiring. if you have to replace it, dont waste your money on the ebay ones or msd ones..just get the good ole ACDelco..they last alot longer. and you should replace the water pump as well since you have to remove it anyway. alot of times when the water pump fails it leaks onto the optispark distributor and kills it.
