Positraction rear end
You probably already have an answer to this, but here goes anyway. Posi-traction and limited slip differentials are different terms for the same thing. If it is a highway police car, it probably has 2.73 gears or lower thus giving it a high top end speed. If it is a city police car, it needs fast acceleration more than a high top end, so it would have a higher gear ratio such as 3.73 to one.

or just turn the tires 1 turn and count the rotation of the driveshaft.
|
With the transmission in N , chock the 3 wheels and the jack up the 4th wheel ( rear ) . Put jack stands under it .
Try to rotate the wheel manually . I think if it turns & the drive shaft turns , no posi . If it does not turn , I think you do have posi . God bless Wyr |
floor it while driving across your neighbours lawn.
