Default TCS comes on and shuts down vehicle which will not allow removal of key from ignition

Purchased a 2012 Chevy Captiva Sport for daughter in college last August 2017. Captiva started having a problem about 2 months after we purchased it. The TCS warning flashes and then when you stop the vehicle, the key cannot be removed from the ignition and you cannot start the vehicle or use the gear shift. Vehicle is just dead. The only way to get it started is by taking the battery cables off the battery waiting about 10 minutes, put cables back on and then the system resets and you are able to remove the key. This has happened a total of 7 times to my 22 year old daughter who is in another town away from us. This has been happening more frequently and I am so afraid that my daughter is going to be out late at college and this happen to her and that either it will cause her to be involved in a wreck and hurt or killed, or be stranded out in the dark and possibly raped and killed. GM/Chevrolet needs to have a recall done on this model ASAP as it appears there are just too many instances of Chevy Captiva owners experiencing this same thing. As a corporation, probably knows there is a problem, would be very eager to correct this problem before a lawsuit is brought against them because it killed someone or a person was badly injured. Come on GM/Chevrolet do the right thing and issue a recall on this vehicle before it is too late!
