1995 cavalier - trouble starting in rain

hi,

first off: i have little experience fixing cars.

my issue is upon starting...when the car is damp...or if it has rained...it is very difficult to start...starter turns over...but just doesn't ignite.

when i do manage to get it going it rocks for a bit...like there is a missing or misfiring piston.

the jittery engine behavior lasts just a few minutes...seemingly until the car warms up and the condensation leaves.

then, it is fine.

i have read that it my be helpful to spray some wd-40 under the distributor cap...but i don't think the '95 version has one of these.

is there a comparable quick fix for this problem?

cheers and thanks.

sounds like bad ignition wires, seen it many times.if you want to find out forsure i would spray the engine where the ignition wires are and see if it will start.its an easy trick.
