1999 Cav leaking antifreeze from a/c compressor?
My car has a slow leak of antifreeze, and its beading on the a/c compressor before dripping off. But I'm not sure if its the compressor leaking or its just collecting there. I can't see any leaks in any hoses or the radiator. My questions:
Do a/c compressors even have antifreeze flowing through them? If so, is my compressor shot or a leaky gasket? Any idea what else could be leaking? (Probably hard to say without seeing it, but maybe you'll have an idea of common slow leaks) Thanks for the help. |

do you have a 3.1 V-6? if so it's probably the lower intake gaskets are leaking

The A/C compressor will not have antifreeze in it or any of the A/C lines.
You may even have a water pump leaking , when this happens and the engine is running it will spray coolant all over. |
RE: 1999 Cav leaking antifreeze from a/c compressor?
I have a 2.2L V4. Like I said, its a very slow leak, and after a week or so, it seems to be slowing down. I checked it this morning after letting it sit all night and there was only a couple drops on the driveway. It looks like there is a little bit of fluid missing from the overfill, but not much.
