No voltage to module

i had just finished putting a new 2.2 into my cavalier and the engine cranks and all lights work but I am getting no voltage to the control module resulting in no spark. Any thoughts?

what module, what connector and what pins om the connector did you check?

any theft lights on?
can you connect a scan tool and communicate with the pcm?

It would be the spark control module. And yes the anti theft light is on. I have tried every GM method I have found online to try and reset the anti theft.

if the theft light is on solid after cranking it will inhibit spark output from the ignition control module.

did you swap out anything else? ipc, pcm?

what year cav so we are on the same page here? what engine 2.2 ecotec or 2200?

Roflpwn344 September 12th, 2015 9:34 AM

The motor was the only thing swapped. It is a 97 with a motor from a 96

fyi in cav circles you have a 2200 not a 2.2

if the theft light is on...post the codes

[B I do believe that year they had the 2.2 L OHV, 2.2L OHC Ecotec 2.3 L OHC and 2.4 L OHC Ecotec's. But I could be wrong. Would be helpful knowing which one. Most likely the 2.2 OHV or OHC

2.2 ecotec went into cav's in 2003. he has a 2200
