stripped and rusted bleeder
I have a 97 cavalier z-24 I replaced the hubs on both sides and the drum brakes however in the process of putting everything together and getting ready to bleed the lines I broke a rusted line so I replaced it and now I can't get the driver side bleeder screw to come off, I have used PB blaster and let it soak for a few days and it stripped out.
Any ideas how to get it out or how I might be able to bleed the lines without putting in a new bleeder screw? |
they can be released with the use of a torch...heat it cherry red then quench it with water and repeat 6x. then turn it out with vise grips or extractor.
its a cavalier...a new wheel cylinder is $25...install a new one. |
I had thought about the torch idea but wasn't real sure how well that would work with the e-break cable.
