1968 C-10 Build

Howdy. I am new to CF and have a quick question. I am currently in a project: 1968 C-10, SWB, Stepside, 454, not sure which automatic transmission I need or want to use? I have located a K-5 and S-10 forum but cannot find a C-10 forum. Any help would be appreciated. Thx!

Since this is a help question, it doesn't belong in "site feedback". Moving to pickups ...

The 454 motor was not available in a 1968 C-10 Chevy, as GM had not produced it then. That said, you can run a 700R4, a TH400 or 4L80 automatic transmissions on your 454 cubic-inch engine.

Thank you. Yes, the 454 was not available in '68, however I have a sweet 454 I am putting in the truck. I have been leaning towards a beefed up 700R4, but ama little concerned about the size. Have been toying with the idea of a 200 4R. Any one have any thoughts or experience with this transmission? Thanks in advance.
