there are 2 wires to the starter motor. one large from the battery. one small from the ignition. the small wire is power in start to close the starter solenoid. when closed, you should hear the solenoid click once. if you don't hear it click...check for battery voltage on the small wire.

0volts in any position but start. with the key in start...full battery voltage.

& check the big wire at the starter solenoid...should have battery voltage at all times.

It’s the BCM. You will get intermittent, starting problems with this problem.

This is is a common issue on this car and people end up spending hundreds chasing started and electrical problems.

Next time the car won’t start, give the BCM on the passenger side below the radio a kick. I becha it will start right up.

bcm can be ruled out in seconds. have someone turn the engine to start while you put your finger on the starter relay in the fuse box...if you feel and hear the starter relay click. the bcm is working normally.
