Default Help car won't started

Hi there, new to the forum. I have a 2006 Cobalt with the 2.2l.. Last time I drove the car it was making a loud knocking noise so I' parked it. It has been about 6 months since it was driven last so the battery was dead. I charged it up but now when i try to start the car it fires off but doesn't start up. I get the message Eng Pwr Reduced and the car will not start. I was going to sell it to a neighbor but can't start it. What would be the first thing to start with.. I did pul get code P0601. Any help in getting this thing started would be great. Thanks in advance.

if the codes are stored (not active), clear them out and try to restart the car. when a battery slowly dies....modules lose communication and this sets codes. If any codes reset, post them here.

did you swap out or replace any modules?

This code is common when the PCM isn’t getting a full 12 volts.

it could possible be a bad ground as well.

The worst case case is a bad PCM or a PCM that needs reflashed.
