Displacement on demand/active fuel mgmt. system
2016 stingray with the active fuel mgmt. system when transitioning from v8 to v4 the engine acts like it is stalling,it then transfers back to v8 and runs normally. Trying to find out if anyone has encountered this issue.

Welcome to the forum.
First I've heard of it. Any codes? |
Thank you for the response. The problem was finally duplicated by the dealer.
It was not until they duplicated the problem that a code of loss of internal vacuum was detected by the computer. Tech support at GM had them check the mechanical aspects (valve train springs primarily). They then changed out the electronic control mondule (ECM) and no more problem. I would like to see the post mortem on the module but the dealer even said that probably won't happen. In the end all is good and the wife is happy again (high priority) |
Thanks for the feedback. AFM has reeked havoc on Tahoe and Suburban engines.
