Cruze Down on power on takeoff?

I have had my 2014 LT for a year and during the (Kansas) summer months it seems like it has no power when pulling from a stop. There are times I almost got hit due to I would leave the stop and it just doesn't have any power to get going.
I have had to put it in manual to keep the RPM's up and shift to 2nd once I got going. I will let the dealer service dept know about it on my next oil change but I want to see how many others notice this before I get spooled up.
The shift schedule sucks on the Cruze too, it gets to 6th gear way too fast which also makes it seem down on power when driving at lower speeds.
I like the car over all except for what I have mentioned.
It is paid for and I want to get some use out of it before getting something with a little more meat under the hood before I get killed crawling out of an intersection in the Cruze.

I"ve notices this problem since I got the car. No power from the start. It has stalled on me many times and is dangerous if I can't get in the lane. Another design defect.

do you both have the 1.4 liter turbo engine?

1.4L for me with 16k Miles.
Drives great in the mornings and evening, just horrid during the heat of the day. Also drives just fine in the winter.
